Saturday, October 17, 2015. So the question was, what bird do I try for in between family time and an all day pelagic? The Red-throated Pipits were the closest. But a Pacific Golden-Plover and a Ruff were calling my name too. After being zapped by the sun and humidity I decided to take a nap. I needed my sleep for the 12-hour pelagic the following day.
Kudos for Yellowstone Campground Host Ray. Ray made regular rounds around the campground, visiting with campers and advising them in a friendly and helpful way. Ray had it well covered and, having been informed from the get-go, people were keeping things tidy. The Perils Of Growing Up Wild.
About wildlife photography and birding. Cold weather here in San Angelo, with drizzle and freezing temps. A few days ago it was near 80 degrees. In a couple of days it will be back to near spring temperatures again. Such is living in west Texas. Anyway, I am anxious for spring and the spring migration. Needless to say, with the ups and downs of the weather, birding is pretty slow. I never tire of trying to photograph these tin.

Looking for eagles and owls. I found the owls in the same spot they were last year. The park is not too far from work so I stopped by one night before dark. Found one of the adults on a branch just above the nest. Ibis flying by right before dark. I found a lone robin near the owl nest.

Carson is not his real name but its the name given to him on REECES RAINBOW. Carson is a sweet little 7 year old boy who was born on April 17, 2003. Carson was born with a rare skin condition called epidermolysis bullosa. You may ask what is EB? Its a miracle he has not been transferred to there yet since he is already 7 years old.
